Dang it! It's been a year again. My deepest apologies to any of you that have been clicking on this blog to just see, nothing new. I'll have to spread the word that I'm back at it again (hopefully). Our lives have evolved and transitioned so much in a year. Honestly, I haven't gotten my
creative on in months. No sewing, no blogging, just cooking(usually 2-3 meals/day from scratch), cleaning, entertaining children, and running in circles like many other busy mom friends that I have. I try to see myself in 15 years when my children are older and things aren't so crazy in my household. Then after a big sigh and a smile I try to enjoy every crazy, whining, dirty dish, mayhem moment because I know they won't last.
So you wonder...hmmm, why has this mamma stopped getting her
creative on? So glad you asked! My solitude is so important to me, probably because I don't get much of it. After the first of the year, I read a book about homeschooling. Which, like the book
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, leads to another book and then another. I swear I need to stop reading because there is this thing called knowledge and wisdom and it comes with responsibility. Sooo, we are traveling down this path in which I have another title, Home Educator. Depending on where you fall on the spectrum, you are either rolling your eyes in dismay or clapping your hands and cheering me on. Don't worry I'm not blind to the fact of this range. Just remember this is
our journey and this is where we have landed for this time period. This is a huge, huge, huge undertaking for us and something I will never take lightly. So far it has been an incredibly humbling and sanctifying experience for me. I am ever before the Lord begging for his help with this responsibility. Getting my
creative on, like everything else in my life has been hijacked to serve my family. Learning what is important to me is ever changing. Maybe I'll post the many reasons why we have chosen this path or maybe I won't. Either way, it would deserve a post all it's own. Needless to say, the eight months of researching and researching and figuring out how this looks for our family has sucked my creative juices dry. So onward we go being that crazy family that does just about everything backwards from the cultural norm, from diet to doctoring and now education.
